I have over fourteen years experience in private instruction and musical performance. I started giving bass lessons while attending the University of Mary in 1995 and started teaching guitar in 2001. I received a bachelors degree in music education and I completed North Dakota teacher certification (license #58144). My focus is on computer-aided learning for guitar and bass students ages 9 and up. I spend a good deal of my time working on FinaleGuitar, an online guitar and bass method.
I have been active in the Midwest as a performer, composer, arranger, studio musician, and educator. I was a featured soloist at the 2003 University of Mary Jazz Festival and I've shared the stage with some of the best musicians in the country. In the Chicago area, I performed with rock band "Joe Rockhead" and jazz guitarist Hunter Prendergast. In the Bismarck-Mandan area, I have performed with Mother Blues and the Mojo Band, Joe Friday, Nu-Voyce, Dennis Connelly, RIFT, Less Than X, FatDad, the Great Plains Jazz Society's All-Star Big Band, and the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra. On a personal note, My son Elijah turned five in July and is currently fascinated with dinosaurs, bugs, training dragons, and learning how to ride bike. My daughter Harper Autumn was born June 10! She's really interested in eating and sleeping (unlike her dad who only gets time for eating).
