Bio

I have over fourteen years experience in private instruction and musical performance.  I started giving bass lessons while attending the University of Mary in 1995 and started teaching guitar in 2001.  I received a bachelors degree in music education and completed North Dakota teacher certification in 1999.  My focus is on computer-aided learning for guitar and bass students ages 9 and up.  I spend a good deal of my time working on my online guitar and bass method.

I have been active in the Midwest as a performer, composer, arranger, studio musician, and educator. I was a featured bassist at the 2003, 2011, and 2013 University of Mary Jazz Festivals and I’ve had the good fortune to share the stage with some of the best musicians in the country.  In the Chicago area, I performed with rock band “Joe Rockhead” and recorded with jazz guitarist Hunter Prendergast.  In the Bismarck-Mandan area, I have performed with Mother Blues and the Mojo Band, Joe Friday, Nu-Voyce, Dennis Connelly, RIFT, Less Than X, FatDad, the Great Plains Jazz Society’s All-Star Big Band, Michael Land, and the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra.  I perform regularly with my current bands Fully Loaded, Choice Of Potato, and the BisMan Jazz Collective.
